Hidden Words of Baha'u'llah
O SON OF JUSTICE!
Whither can a lover go but to the land of his beloved? and what seeker findeth rest away from his heart’s desire? To the true lover reunion is life, and separation is death. His breast is void of patience and his heart hath no peace. A myriad lives he would forsake to hasten to the abode of his beloved.
In this section:
Who is Baha'u'llah?
Baha'u'llah is the Prophet/Founder of the Baha'i Faith.
What are the Hidden Words?
In Part 1 of the Hidden Words -- From the Arabic -- the Bahá'u'lláh Writes these words:
|
HE IS THE GLORY OF GLORIES
This is that which hath descended from the realm of glory, uttered by the tongue of power and might, and revealed unto the Prophets of old. We have taken the inner essence thereof and clothed it in the garment of brevity, as a token of grace unto the righteous, that they may stand faithful unto the Covenant of God, may fulfill in their lives His trust, and in the realm of spirit obtain the gem of Divine virtue. |
'Abdu'l-Bahá, the Master and son of Baha'u'llah, advised daily recitation of the Hidden Words.
The Hidden Words from the Arabic are 71 in number and from the Persian are 83 in number.
I have posted 9 of the Hidden Words from the Arabic and 9 from the Persian, as translated by Shoghi Effendi, grandson of 'Abdu'l-Baha and Guardian of the Baha'i Faith.
If you enjoy reading the Hidden Words, which I find are great for daily meditations, add your name to the Hidden Words mailing list and I will send you a new Hidden Word every other day.
Of course you can also find the complete collection of the Hidden Words online, but maybe getting a Hidden Word every second day will be a gentle reminder to you to meditate on the holy word on a daily basis. The choice is yours completely. Go to
